37) The SunCottage is complete!
With summer winding down, the stone walls finished and the landscaper's work done, it seems like a perfect time to declare the cottage complete and put the blog to bed.
We had four rental couples stay with us before Covid-19 clamped down on travel. Things opened up again in July when we had an essential worker stay with us, a rabbi from Boston who came up to oversee the production of kosher cheese uphill at the Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company. July and August saw three more brave couples travel north and we're so happy with their wonderful observations. Click reviews to see what they had to say. McCullough Stonework:
Spring saw stonemason Darren McCullough building walls, the overhang and the perfect patio:

Driveway island

Huge patio stone

Darren at work

Melville projects:

Son Graham built a dip pool in the stream for the true Scandinavian sauna experience

Hunter built a fire pit on the hill with the leftover stone

Landscaping:

Jack Rossi oversaw the landscaping design which was superbly done by the Arborscape crew

Catamount Solar

12 additional solar panels were added in late August making the SunCottage net-zero!

We're off the grid

Voila, c'est finis.
Rester avec nous!
Bon nuit et bon voyage.
